NATIONAL WATER RESOURCES STUDY (2000-2050) DESCRIPTION
SMHB, in association with Ranhill Bersekutu and Perunding Zaaba, were appointed by the Government of Malaysia to carry out a national water resources study to review and update the National Water Resources study
(NWRS) carried out by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency 0ICA) in 1982.
The NWRS involved an assessment of the overall water resources in all the states of Peninsular Malaysia for an integrated planning, development and management of water resources projects in the immediate, medium and long term up to the year 2050.
A master plan which recommended an overall priority programme, strategic direction for a phased development and timely implementation of the recommended projects for water resources and river basin and inter-basin development and management was developed.
